NOTE

These instructions only apply to microscopes within the Department of Physics.

Saving data from microscopes

Once you have taken your images / data from the microscopes you should save it to the Microscope Suite server. There is a shortcut to this on the desktop of all the microscope computers which you can double-click to open. Inside you should see folders named after people's login names. The first time you use the system you will need to make one for yourself.

If you have a Raven account, make a folder named after your CRSid. If the folder you create does not match your Raven login you will not be able to access it later.

If you are not part of the University and do not have a Raven account, the Microscopy Suite staff will have given you a login name to log in to the microscope computer(s). Create a folder named after this login name.

Getting data from outside the Microscopy suite

You can get data from the Microscopy Suite over the Internet.

From the Electron Microscopy Suite main web page, select the My Files link on the left hand side. This will give you a web page where once again you can either log on using a Raven password or a password for people who are not members of the University.

Once you have logged in you will be presented your files in your web browser:

web file listing

You can click on the name of the file to download it, or you can download the whole folder as a zip file with the download zip link at the top of the page.
